I don't claim to be an expert writer, but I love to read, and I love to write creatively. I have a blog, not too many readers of it, but I have one, actually I have two. Both of my blogs are located in Google blogspots; one is titled TheOriginalCindy, the other is called Losing Fifteen. If you feel so inclined, pop by and say hi! |

How can I get more reviews (basically more opinions of my work)?
February 27, 2015 at 10:49AM
nancy_e_davis: Fan more people. They will get a message and maybe fan you back. Your fans will get a message when
you post. Ask for opinions in your Authors notes.

adewpearl: and promote higher with a certificate and member cent pumps - it's a fact of life, the higher the pay out to reviewers, the more reviewers who will spend time with your post

theoriginalcindy: I guess I should review more, to earn more, so that I can buy the certificates for promoting my own work?
Is that how the majority of you get the certs?
February 27, 2015 at 3:57PM
nor84: Yes. Your best luck is the postings on the home page and in Up Next.

adewpearl: yes, it's the only way I get the certs, through the reviewing dollars I earn.

vapros: Cindy, get used to it. Reviewing is the name of the game here, and it fuels this machine. If you want to have your work reviewed, you must promote it. There are two ways to acquire the resources to promote. Nearly all of us review. A few buy what they need with hard cash.

michaelcahill: You discovered one good way by posting something in the forum here. You just received input from four of the very best writers and reviewers on the site. Check out their profiles and read some of their work. Review some while your at it. You can learn as much reviewing as you can by being reviewed. Of course, ditto everything they've already said.

theoriginalcindy: Thank you to all. I have been reviewing as much as I can, as time allows. I will keep on keepin' on!

Do you find it easier to write on paper and transfer it to the computer, or to write by typing into the computer and revising?
February 17, 2015 at 6:44PM
adewpearl: I write all poetry on paper first - something just doesn't seem like poetry when it's typed into a computer :-)
February 17, 2015 at 6:48PM

mrsmajor: I prefer to write it on paper first, I find less errors, when I do it that way...If I want to change my mind about something, I can always do so...

nor84: I have a background in office work, so typing comes naturally. I've had a typewriter all my life. Remember typing (hunt and peck) and writing my name on my mother's old Underwood portable--and I do mean old. Probably very early 30s.

evilynne: I have come to use the computer more because it is easier to move words as they come to me.

ravenblack: All computer. It frees me up to delete, add and move text without hesitation. On paper, I get too anal, not wanting to scratch things out and edit.

FREEFEE: There arent any rules for me...if i feel like i need to right on paper,or i feel like typing...there's ways around it....somtimes i type with one finger will reciting a poem in my mind. Barriers are made to be broken , especially on this subject. If you feel free, your in the right place. If not, transform it.

humpwhistle: I write prose, and I love the computer because I constantly self-edit. Erasures and cross-outs, deles and stets, yellow pads can't stand up to my torture.

I am new to writing online and posting for others to see. I do love to write creatively, however, I am usually at a loss as to what to write about. I am hoping that these contests and other stories will help to spark some new ideas.
