Write in rhyme for a good time
Poetry Contest
For my friend Domino 2.
Write a poem in any rhymed form of your choice. Could be a sonnet, villanelle, triolet, rhondeu, sonnetino or just a quatrain. No haiku, senryu or 5-7-5. Must be a rhymed form. If a strict poetic form, research the rules of the form, feel free to PM me if you have questions.
Ray (Domino 2) and I have both suffering from a lack of poetic inspiration and a writer's drive, and our muses must have gotten together and escaped to some remote island where there is no cell phone connection or other means of communication; at least we can't find them (lol).
This is a cheer-up, inspirational contest. Since Ray and I both have penchant for rhymed poetry and those intricate poetic forms, let's make it rhyme.
Minimum length: any poetic form that is a bit longer than a senryu (lol).
No, seriously, most forms already have pre-set lengths; if a quatrain, minimum of three stanzas. If a sonnet, a single sonnet, please.
The contest winner will win half of the prize pool of 90.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 2 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.
Deadline: Contest is closed. Deadline was Friday, December 16, 2016.
