DwaRazy Poem
A DwaRazy (Polish for "Two times") is a poem in which a word is used twice in different forms in the same line of every verse. As an example:
The polished figures of the bronze figurines,
glisten in the sun's glistening beams.
"Figure" and "glisten" appear twice in their lines, but in a different form. You cannot repeat the key word exactly, but imaginative variations are appreciated, such as; Band, Bands, Banding, Bandage, Bandicoot. It is easiest to modify a line's key word merely by pluarlizing it, make it past tense, or suffixing it, -ing, -ly, -ette, etc. A key word may be contained in its counterpart, such as, upper/supper. Trickier forms would be like "all owed" with "allowed." ("They all owed the most he allowed.")
Your poem must rhyme in a easily recognizable scheme. No free verse. Minimum of six syllables per line, and the work must be at least eight lines in length.
The contest winner will win half of the prize pool which is based on the number of entries. The second and third place winners will each share the remaining prize pool. The prize pool is currently 40.00 member dollars. There are 10 spots still open. If all open spots are used the prize pool will be 90.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 5 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.
