Review: Contests and Competition
My intent is to focus on Fanstory's prompts, member created and site contests. However, competition in general is a part of all we do here, so feel free to address that issue if you are so moved, there is, no doubt, much to say there.
This is to be an essay or opinion piece. Please note that a poem will be disqualified outright. Don't treat this as an opportunity to "get creative" and pen a science fiction piece about aliens discovering Fanstory and destroying the Earth as a result. Hmm ... that's MY IDEA, by the way.
Don't mention anyone in a negative way by name. YES, you may address cheating, the same people winning all the time, popularity, and friend voting trends ... those are issues that have arisen many times. However, accusations directed at any member directly or implied will get you disqualified. Address the practice of voting for buddies, NOT who is practicing it. You may also critique the committees, but keep in mind the committees are made up of fellow members doing one heck of an unpopular job and difficult job. If you claim you're being denied your just do and inferior pieces are besting yours, well, we'll all be able to judge that for ourselves, yes?

The contest winner will win half of the prize pool which is based on the number of entries. The second and third place winners will each share the remaining prize pool. The prize pool is currently 30.00 member dollars. There are 12 spots still open. If all open spots are used the prize pool will be 90.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 2 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.
