The words a person writes is the shadow of their heart.
"When the Spirit Calls"
by poetwatch
|
There is no place
to hide from God.
The stars are His eyes
that see as you write.
If the writing's wrong
with feelings that arouse, they will lead you astray.
Your touch and your words may seem to be right,
but deep down inside your light has grown fragile.
No love to caress you,
for darkness is cold.
No words written care,
only the wind howling
in a cold winter's sky
as memories revive
the desires of years.
I see my soul wander.
I am not a good man.
In vanity, I've walked,
in shame, I'll now fly
on man-made dreams.
I sense the emptiness
in the void, my name,
a masking of nothing.
I'm a man lost in limbo, searching for the light.
To me, the light is heaven and hell is naught.
So, I sing to the spirit and pray for my soul.

Author Notes
Call me crazy and you're probably right, but I wrote it. I'm a sinner, trying to write for the light. I hope you enjoy something that's not too cold. :) This is for the free-verse potlatch club. Bless you, all.
