A Seasoned Octet
"A Plethora of Poignant Poetry"

A rhyme or two inside my head
and soon I read a line that flew;
a new unique poetic thread,
recording time, a poem grew . . .
and in my hand I held a book,
I undertook a task to find
a kind of rhyming poet cook,
a labyrinth so well designed.
The flavour held inside a word,
where I had heard a magic pin
drop in my ear just like a bird,
a tuneful day would stay within.
A melody started to chart,
and soon imparted sun like May,
a way of lifting up my heart,
to cast a spell upon my day.

A Seasoned Octet
Introducing a new form of eight syllables per four lined stanza, written in iambic tetrameter. The rhyming complex is indicated below and can be made up of multiple stanzas. I hope you enjoy it, although it is very challenging to write.
