Last Sunday our local Pastor noticed
little Alex standing in the church
foyer, staring up at a large row of
plaques. It had names imprinted on
them with small flags mounted on each
side. Noticing Alex staring so intently
on the plaques, Pastor walked over to
him and quietly said, "Good morning Alex."
Without taking his eyes off the plaques,
Alex obligingly replied, "Good morning
Reverend." Presently little Alex
inevitably inquired, "Reverened, what
does all these words and flags mean?"
"Well Alex, Pastor replied softly, it's
a memorial to all the young men and women
who died in the service."
Both stood there silently for several minutes,
until little Alex, suddenly thrust his little
hands covering his face, and worriedly asked,
"Which service, Reverened, the 9:30 or 10:30?
Author Notes
Could not resist capturing little Alex's expression over
the 'worried service'.
