I've been writing for over 40 years. I enjoy meditation and am interested in both western and eastern spiritual practices.

I should have brought You flowers
And offered You some tea
Although I love You dearly
I can't surrender me

Your children are part of you
They will never let you go
But I'm still struggling with myself
And the darkness of my soul

I should have made You promises
But they are things that I can't keep
I have ventured in your garden
In the times of silent sleep

I look towards Your heaven
As I live in a mindful spell
Shattered are my dreams
As old age is where I dwell

I should have brought You flowers
And offered You some tea
I have wandered in the forest
Seeking to be free

Now I see the story
That shines without disguise
You are God's Greatest glory
The Breath that fills our lives

Truth gives us a secret
Love lives in our hearts
Joy is bursting outward
Wisdom plays Her part

I should have brought You flowers
And offered You some tea
Sang a song of praise
My Love for You from me

I should have brought You flowers
And given You a gift
You're the Mother of the Universe
That gave my life a lift

I should have brought You flowers

Author Notes
To me The Holy Breath is the Mother of the universe. She is awakened in Mary, Mother of Jesus. She is the Liberator and Redeemer.
