"The Rapture of the Church" by Deniz22

QUESTION: What do you believe about the Rapture?

ANSWER:
It was taught by Jesus and Paul. It is often confused with the Second Coming, but is very different in purpose and timing.

The Rapture is only for born-again believers. It will include all such, whether they are spiritually mature, babes in Christ or completely backslidden and defeated.

The Rapture can happen today as it is imminent, requiring no signs, unlike the Second Coming which will have many warning signs.

The Rapture is the rescue of the Bride by the Heavenly Bridegroom. He is personally coming for her to save her from "the wrath to come" (the terrible 7 year Tribulation) and sweep her up to Glory and His Father's House!

He has been preparing a place for her there all these years...how GLORIOUS it will be!

The Rapture will be followed by the Tribulation which Jesus warned is worse than anything which has happened since the dawn of Creation.

This period will be characterized by the rise of a world leader who will seduce many into following him.

He will appear as a man of peace, but war will be in his heart. He will be energized by Satan.

His main target will be the Jewish nation whom he will hate with implacable malice.

Although many rejoice in Israel being formed into a nation in 1945, she will once again be overrun by unsaved, wicked Gentiles and her people again refugees in the earth.

Her rebuilt temple will have an image of the Beast which all will be required to worship or die.

Failure to take the "mark of the Beast" on one's body will mean no food, no job, and running for dear life.

People will wonder at that time; "Has God abandoned His ancient people? Is there any hope?"

Those who know the Word of God will remember the words of the Prophet Habakkuk in a similar, localized situation although the Tribulation persecution will be worldwide;

"A prayer of Habakkuk the prophet, on Shigionoth.

O Lord, I have heard Your speech and was afraid; O Lord , revive Your work in the midst of the years!

In the midst of the years make it known; In wrath remember mercy.
(Habakkuk 3:1-2 NKJV)

The mercy of our faithful God will be seen in the midst of this time of wrath. God will provide 144,000 Divinely protected Jewish evangelists, scattered throughout the earth.

Their main message will be:"Christ is coming soon! Make ready by trusting Him as your personal Savior now!"

Their mission of evangelism will be hugely successful as untold thousands of Gentiles will be saved!

These saved Gentiles will be kind to the Jewish refugees for Jesus' sake. Jesus spoke of rewarding them here:

Matthew 25 speaks of this:
"When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.

All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.

Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.'

"Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink?

When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You?

Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?'

And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.'
(Matthew 25:31-40 -NKJV)

This prophecy will be fulfilled after the long awaited Second Coming of Christ.

In the Rapture, Christ comes alone and calls His Bride to join Him in the air and then goes back to Heaven.

In sharp contrast, His Second Coming has Him leading the armies of Heaven onto the earth to reclaim it for God.

He will utterly wipe out all opposition and establish by force His Kingdom on earth.

After the elimination of all wicked people, He will order Satan to be chained in the abyss and He will take the Throne of David in Jerusalem.

From there He will rule the saved Gentile nations as well as the now converted nation of Israel.

Their conversion will be similar to Paul's and happen when they see Him coming in His glory.

Here is Jude's description of the conquering Savior coming from Glory to subdue the earth:

"Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, "Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him."
(Jude 1:14-15  NKJV)

Psalm 2 also has much to say about the conquering Savior;

"Why do the nations rage, And the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, And the rulers take counsel together,

Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying, "Let us break Their bonds in pieces And cast away Their cords from us."

He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision. Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, And distress them in His deep displeasure: "Yet I have set My King On My holy hill of Zion." "I will declare the decree:

The Lord has said to Me, 'You are My Son, Today I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for Your possession.

You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter's vessel.'

"Now therefore, be wise, O kings; Be instructed, you judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, And rejoice with trembling.

Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, And you perish in the way, When His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him." (Psalm 2:1-12 (NKJV)

SUMMATION:

The Rapture can happen today and trigger all these subsequent events; are you ready?

Trust Christ today and learn His counsel in His Word.

Missing the Tribulation by faith in Jesus is a great blessing but the even larger blessing is having Christ in our lives.
