Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
as talented as he was unique
"For Dean" by Mark Valentine
Well-deserved -- the fame and glory, that he earned here on Fanstory
Where the gruesome and the gory came to be his stock and store.
Poems designed to scare each reader, told with flawless rhyme and meter,
Now he reads them to St. Peter as he walks through heaven’s door --
Where he’ll write forevermore.

Whence his talent? I think, maybe, sure as C-D follows A-B,
Poe and Shelley* had a baby, left him at a farmer’s door.
Given he’s a baby boomer, guess that story’s just a rumor
Started by that sense of humor, Dean came to be famous for --
And will keep us smiling evermore.

Author Notes
* Mary, not Percy (cuz that would just be weird)

I hope no one will interpret the humor as a lack of respect - I meant it to be a homage to Dean's sense of humor (and the meter and rhyme scheme are nods to one of his favorite poems, The Raven).

I was going to include this in Robyn's book, but, alas, I'm not very Fanstory-tech-savvy and I couldn't figure it out. (I'd have asked her how, but it's 3 a.m.)
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
