Prologue of the book 2020 - 2
just because
"Giving All I Can" by Barb Hensongispsaca
I turned my life over to Him
to do what e'er He wished to do.
This act was not made on a whim -
through tears of pain and sorrow, too.

I give my sight that I may see
His mercies that He gives to all.
I give my tongue to witness free
as I accept His loving call.

I give my arms to comfort those
that need to know they're not alone.
I give my ears to hear the woes
of suffering that plead and moan.

I give my touch to those who cry
and can not hear the Lord's reprieve.
I give my time not asking why
to comfort those in pain who grieve.

I give all that I have to give,
I'm ready if He asks for more.
I know He'll show me how to live.
I want His love through me, to pour.

You ask what did He do that I
would give my life to die for Him?
He listened when I begged to die,
He held me when my life seemed dim.

When others turned their backs on me
He came into my sin-filled days
and brought such peace that I might see
the horror of my evil ways.

He walked a blood-soaked street of pain,
He gave His life nailed to a tree
as Satan tempted Him again,
but He chose death to set me free.

What did He give me? Listen close -
He gave me life and love and grace,
a peace to live among my foes
'til paradise, I'll see His face.
