The power of words in a mixed bag of rhymes.
"Words" by Raffaelina Lowcock

Who would have thought?

It does seem quite absurd
That when you speak a word
The sole conglomeration
Could cause someone “elation”

Be sure the words you do select
When one you cherish hears
For know that they will recollect
Those words for many years

The depth of meaning in your speech
Is capable of lengthy reach
To ply one’s heart or even breach
A previous assumption.

You said it oh so gently
You meant to be so kind
It was just the right reply
The best word you could find.

You did not know that word had found
Its way toward a heart
And that the word is still around
Never to depart.

In my mind I wonder from the start
How many words, were said by me
Have found an open heart
I'll never know, and it's the way that it must be.
