A tribute to a friend
"In Remembrance of Luis"
by poetwatch
|
I once had a friend and his name was Luis,
A friend whose work was his loving release.
An accountant by trade, a recluse life
Who worked and walked drunk with a carving knife
A carving knife sliced his life away
As bones withheld the laugh, I use to see.
All this time he drank with no time to play.
He worked hard, drank hard, to make his money.
To make his money he would spent the day
In darkness. His way, his life, 'til the end
His heart was kind, but evil had his way.
I still remember... I once had a friend.

Author Notes
Luis passed away a few years back. Yet, I still see him as a hefty friend and then, one day, a wasted friend. He had one eye, but he could see everything, except his drinking and smokng habit.
