 The thunder of heartstrings silenced.

In the lingering shadow
of his parting,
she began her
odyssey
into the morrows'
sea of loneliness.
Without him--
she was a silent instrument
wandering
through empty lyrics-
without a melody.
Flat notes
floated through
The emptiness;
skimming love's surface
in search of
the musician
who once
whispered
them to life.
