This is a baseball poem (please read note)
"Angels and Devils"
by Cynthia Adams1
|
Thad left his house at 8:00 a.m. and stumbled on a crime
In the night, thieves stole his stairs; he sat in city grime
The beat cop laughed and ambled on, so mad Thad dropped a dime
To the mayor, he knew from school but even he said, "Got no time...
for freakin' Yankees fans who have the gall to live in Anaheim."

5 line humorous poem writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt |
Write a five line humorous poem. Any subject but must rhyme. |
Author Notes
As a life-long baseball fan, I can tell you cities have infamous and real rivalries.
American league fans typically hate the Yankees, though I don't think the feelings are as intense as they used to be when the Yankees won nearly every year. The American League Angels fans tell me they hate the Yankees (and the Dodgers.) You have to hate somebody in sports and the Yankees have broad shoulders.
p.s. I am an Orioles fan...hardly anybody hates us, probably because we haven't been good in ages :)
