A poem exhorting graciousness
"Always Be Gracious" by GE Parson
Be gracious and understanding
With others in pain,
Don't prejudge them
And call them a name.I

And when they grit their teeth
And fight back tears,
If they ask your help
Do it with sympathetic ears.

When one is hurting,
And feeling very sad,
Don't make light of their feelings
They don't need help feeling bad.

So always be gracious
When helping someone in pain,
Because the time may come,
When you will be the same.

by G.E.Parson

Author Notes
I was once in agonizing pain and ask a friend to help me; they reluctantly helped me but did so
very ungraciously suggesting I was a crybaby. I was hurting bad enough and did not need help hurting more.
