New Day
It is a new day:
The stars have finished shining till tonight,
The neighborhood dog is still barking,
My wife is still sleeping with a smile on her face,
Our six grandchildren are hopefully letting our children and their spouses sleep,
A freshness in the air,
The glory of creation spreads across the bright blue sky
The passing of a newly washed mini-van,
The Joy of a God who let pickup trucks be invented,
The look of determination on the faces of the early morning walkers,
The dew on the grass,
The passing police car with the officer nearing the end of his shift,
Fresh donuts at the convenience store,
An early morning walk past house and yard after house and yard, one family then the next,
All created by you, all different.
All are good.
The gentle wind of the spirit,
The stranger walking by who could be Jesus or one of his buddies,
All of these joys of a New Day and it isn't even seven a.m. yet.
