Pushkin Sonnet ~ Onegin Stanza
"Golden Enchantment" by Sugarray77
I amble through low country meadows
where hedgerows rim old weathered fields,
and catch my breath, for near the shadows
stand golden swaths of daffodils.
Capricious springtime lightly teases
while nodding heads dance in the breezes.
Their cheerful, undulating ways,
hypnotically ensnare my gaze.
I pause to view the sight and ponder
that there can be such fields to see;
enchantment washes over me;
I'm drawn into a realm of wonder.
Reflection lulls; my being stills,
as I commune with daffodils.
