Chapter 22 of the book Psalms Of Spring
Childhood and spring.
"Exploring Spring" by dellsworthpoet

In childhood's
remembered spring
I discover bugs
and worms.

They are flooded out of
their lairs in the grass and soil.

On sidewalks and hard surfaces they roam
and I, intrepid explorer, hunt them, watch them react.
Pill bugs roll into a ball and worms retract to half their size.

Ah,
April showers give gifts to the young,
exploration beneath mild skies.
Puddles to splash and dirt to concoct mud pies.
Deja vu wafts in on warm breeze reviving our wonder.

The book continues with Olympic Spring. We will provide a link to it when you review this below.

Author Notes
I chose descort form to stress the unpredictable discoveries of childhood and the flashcard like memories. I hope this is enjoyable.

Descort poetry form from Wikipedia: . . . the descort is made of stanzas with a variable number of lines, and of lines with a variable number of syllables.
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
