A brain dead raccoon
Lies frozen, a vacant stare
You are the mailman.

5-7-5 writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt |
Write a 5-7-5 Poem. A 5-7-5 follows the structure of a Haiku. It has three lines. The first line has 5 syllables. The second line has 7 syllables. The third line has 5 syllables again. The subject can be anything. |
Author Notes
For over a week I would see this poor creature lying on the road in front of my house. There are people who will come and dispose of the remains but they were behind their time. Every day the mailman walks by....I wonder if he thinks of him. Ps Both spellings of raccoon are permissible.
