A time of reflection signifies a time, a few years back, in honour, when my brother died, from his own hands, and my mother a few years before that of Cancer. One now reflects often about one's own life, as much the young innocents who die...thos

A Vocal Poem read by the author
"A Primrose Path (Maureen Napier)"

Primrose Path
(Maureen Napier)
A lonely flute need not transcend
If strings of love strum a journey's end
In fields she rests in pastures green
So meek her mild as seldom seen
Each tear conceals thoughts so bold
Her primrose path thus blazed in gold
Shadows seek no light to see
It asks the wrongs in right to be
Then bleed our thoughts of sanctity
As darkness hides serenity
A path we then cannot define
If at its end are thorns and vine
Yet float she does in a primrose hue
Its scent bequeathed of honey dew
Of quietude and Celtic verse
Of simple truths so unrehearsed
Of kites and sighs and winded skies
Without grey walls of frightened lies
A silent sleep in dreams of sheep
Where hearts then mend from hills so steep
And frosted eyes paint lullabies
As teary smiles, on hope relies
Yet forests green yield faith unbound
Where being lost means close to found
...
Gracious light a sign so quaint
Her heart beats strong but yet so faint
Tiptoed walks in silence tread
She sings alone with words unsaid
And should the choice be gates of men
The primrose path leads back again
A place reserved; her place to dwell
Far from pain; far from hell
Oh, Celtic rose, in awe of you
No bough or bark shall blight your view
Let summer rains anoint the blue
A kaleidoscope of all things new
...
... A primrose path; a chosen few
...On wings of hope, I fly with you
... Yes, on wings of hope, I fly with you
...On wings of hope, I fly with you
There are times in life where, collectively, we make a difference.
A time when faith and togetherness is key;
A time; thoughts are as strong as words;
And today, I know, all who read will lend their thoughts and voices to a remarkable author, woman, mother and friend, for we are united in thought.
And wherever the journey, Maureen Napier...
