a little story
"a little wedding" by judester

"I believe this belongs to you." Peter whispered playfully as he placed the tiny tiara on Tinkerbell's head.

"Oh Peter, must you always be late? I was ready to walk down the aisle alone! And I have been looking everywhere for that tiara!

Then she hugged him tightly. She could never be mad at him.

This day was bittersweet for Tinkerbell. She had always loved this lost boy, but knew it was hopeless. Today she was officially transferring her heart to her fiance. Bittersweet and final.

"You will always be my first love, Peter. You know that." Happy tears filled her eyes.

Wendy coughed softly behind her.

"Peter is the first love of many girls, I suspect." She smiled at her old friends and adjusted the tiny jeweled tiara on Tink's soft curls.

Peter peeked through the curtains of the stained glass window and could see the guests milling about and finding their seats.

Captain Cook, once his arch enemy and now his friend, looked resplendent in his burgundy velvet coat with gold trim. His black tricorne hat set at a jaunty angle. His long suffering butler, Smee was sharing a funny story with some lost boys. Their laughter reached Peter and made him laugh too.

Neverland and it's people had come a long way. For so many years, they had fought against one another. Today, they celebrated more than just a wedding. They celebrated a truce and newfound friendships. Neverland loved a party and everyone was present. The lost boys did their best to be presentable for Tinkerbell's wedding. Cowlicks slicked down and a dusty shine on their boots.

The familiar fairy wedding march began to play. The guests turned in their seats, anxious to see the tiny bride.

"Are you ready my little princess?" Peter asked.
.
Peter and Wendy joined their hands and Tinkerbell sat on them, adjusting her sparkling wedding dress.

It was a perfect day for a wedding. The sun shone down on the happy crowd and blossoms drifted softly around like perfumed confetti.

"Yes, Peter, I'm ready," Tinkerbell smiled, sitting between her two best friends and ready to join her fiance.

In time to the music, they made their way up the flowered aisle, to Tinkerbell's tiny new love.
