I have been writing for sometime, but until now I did a lot of it in seclusion. Glad for the information that led me here. I love this literary outlet to express the deep things of the heart....and the not so deep!

He is an accomplished poet and is currently at the #2 spot on this years rankings.

He is also an active reviewer and is holding the #4 spot on the top ranked reviewer list.

Find a hole...
"I asked of God... part 1" by royowen
I asked of God one day in church,
just where do I begin?
It's just so hard to ever learn --
behave like Jesus' kin.

He has the perfect servant heart,
He's Lord; and yet He's shown
just how to live and die to self;
in us His life is sown.

I asked again where do I serve,
I don't know where to go?
He said to me "Just find a hole,
that's where my love you'll sow."

I wondered how, with faith's desire,
which gate would open wide;
just maybe I'd a preacher be
on fame and glory's ride.

I didn't know what God had planned,
'twas not part of my dream;
a vacancy appeared within
...the churches' cleaning team.

Author Notes
This is a true story, some years ago now. I prayed "what do you want me to do Lord? Then these words formed in my mind, "Find a hole and fill it."
My wife, a retired language teacher was already a member of the church cleaning team, (all volunteers) shortly after one of the aging members fell ill and died, I could feel God's eyes boring into me. I volunteered quickly, (not what I had planned, I'm the world's worst cleaner, but very few people ever volunteer for these jobs. People don't envisage themselves doing this, especially not me!) But ever since that day, the things I am gifted in, music, poetry etc. all sorts of holes have appeared. What's important to God, is a willingness to serve, as Jesus was prepared to do. Just think, the God of this universe is the most humble of all, absolutely no pride in Him.
He Said in Mark 10: 42-43 "For you know that among the gentiles, those they recognise as their rulers lord it over them and their rulers are tyrants over them.
But it's not so among you; but whoever wishes to become great among you must be your servant." NIV
Mark 10:44"The Son of Man (Jesus) did not come to be served, but to serve" Thanks for reading. R.O.
