Walking the pathway of yesterday, today and forever!
"Forever together!" by Commando

"Written by my wife, and given to me moments before her death"

************

When your nights seem long and lonely,
and your bed feels cold and bare,
then in your dream you try and kiss me,
and you find that I'm not there.

Just reach out and touch my picture,
make a wish then say a prayer.
Then in the morning, you'll wake and find,
that I'm sitting in my chair.

Oh, our love shall bloom on forever,
like a winter's rose in the snow.
And the sweet fragrance of its petals
shall linger on as you grow.

Yes, we planted pink roses in the garden,
fed the baby bear and deer.
As we walked hand-in-hand together,
I whispered, "I love you," in your ear.

Together we climbed the highest mountain,
reached up and touched the Face of God.
Now, our love shall bloom forever,
like a rose in its pod.

Author Notes
Back in August of 2016, my wife died with a blood clot in her leg. Just moments before closing her eyes, she smiled, handed me this poem and whispered, "I know it seems so little that I do here, but this was written with love. So always keep it, and when you miss me, hold it close to your heart. And I'll whisper the words in your ear from above. Please, remember to bring it along when you join me." Oh, my God! We were soul mates, and losing her literally broke my heart. "Are you listening, Angel? Happy Valentine's Day!" Thank you for reading wherever you are, and..."God bless!" A 'Salute', to avmurray for the awesome artwork.
