An Abecedarian poem
"Just in time..." by trimple

As I flew about the trees for
branches free of
feathered foe, I
climbed towards the canopy and
dipped my toes in pools of gold.

Enchanted by this liquid kiss that
flowed above my weary feet--
granting me this unctious wish to
hold me in its timeless keep...

I tinkered there about my stride
just as the birds flew near the tree,
knowing fate would soon arrive-- my
legs were held, I couldn't flee... When

Monday called and panic stirred,
no matter what, I couldn't run.
On Tuesday, though my vision blurred, I
ploughed on through this luscious gum.

Quivering-- my body sank at
roundabout half past the hour. My
sails were stuck I drew a blank, the
time arrived to say au revoir. But

unbeknown to those that flew, my
virgin flight escaped their grasp.
Wrapped in here I smiled and knew these
xenophobes would see at last, in

years to come-- my body snuck, their
zoomy eyes would curse my luck...
