Chapter 20 of the book Our Friend Michael Cahill
Our friend Michael Cahill
"A Poet's Heart of Gold" by Susanjohn

One Winter morn, along snow-laden trails,
where pleas unheard succumb -- all hopes forestall.
Divine grandeur, unseen 'neath shrouded veils,
my footsteps falter; bitter teardrops fall.
An icy chill surrounds where warmth resides,
'tis sorrow's wond'ring anguish questions, "Why?"
Eyes searching far above for Whom provides ...
to witness, then, your spirit glorify.
Hosanna's Angels sing sweet serenades ...
good, faithful servant finally extolled.
So beautiful his soul, God's joy cascades
eternally ~ a poet's heart of gold.
'Twas a mere moment passed I'd clearly see
my friend adorned there ~ smiling down 'pon me.

The book continues with Reflections. We will provide a link to it when you review this below.

Author Notes
I can no longer recall the writing prompt, but I do remember Michaels response...He told me, "The Irish ( because of the twinkle in their eyes) have a pass into Heaven." Clearly, we had to be friends. From that point on, he was known as my Irish brother. Truly a beautiful, caring soul. A constant source of encouragement. He will be missed.
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
