I am blessed in so many ways. I have good health, a wonderful family, and time to finally pursue some interests, one of them being writing, a passion that I've had for as long as I can remember.

Watching your grandchildren grow
"One Grandma's Reflections" by Connie C
An extra bedroom full of toys
is where he played while visiting.
I reminisce about the joys
that having him would always bring.

His red fire truck has gathered dust.
His building blocks are put away.
The games we played which were a must
are stacked on shelves where they now stay.

These days it's off to school he goes.
On weekends he's with Mom and Dad
on family outings that they chose.
He's happy, and, for that, I'm glad.

And while I miss our little guy,
there is a light that still shines bright.
His little sister now comes by,
at just age two, a pure delight.

With toys we have, we are in luck.
She likes his toys, his easel too.
She even likes his red fire truck.
These toddler years are far too few.

Author Notes
I have often written about our grandson, Jack, who will be five in a few weeks. He was our first grandchild, and Madeline, his little sister, is almost two. This is a picture of them in front of Jack's preschool.
Thank you for reading.
