This work has reached the exceptional level
I gathered my nerves and stepped outside my door
"Today I felt the wind on my face" by Liberty Justice
Today, I felt the wind upon my face,
As I stepped out my door with a slow pace.
The sun kissed each nervous cheek,
As I slowly ventured out to peek.

In my secluded refuge I found solitude;
locking myself away put me in a stressed mood.
I heard birds chirping a joyful tune,
and my fears subsided very soon.

Two Stanza Poem writing prompt entry

Writing Prompt
Write a short poem, of any type, but with two stanzas only.

Author Notes
Oftentimes, I watch so much horrifying criminal activities on the news that I am nervous about leaving my safe though boring home life; but, I do venture out.
