Author/Poet. I have published two books on Amazon. They are the first two books in my "From the Mind of a Poet" series. The latest book is titled: Poems From a Black Life that Matters! Check it out!

This work has reached the exceptional level
In memory of Dean Kuch
"The Dean's List" by the13thpoet
Since 13 I've been writing rhymes
To get things off my chest and mind

Never really thought poetry was cool
Until I enrolled at the Fanstory school

As soon as I started I was put to the test
Against some great writers, they're simply the best

Their words were powerful, heartfelt and sweet
I thought there's no way, I could compete

With Dolly the queen atop her throne
Can I even come close, should I leave it alone

I want to rise to the top, will I survive the climb
Against writers like M. Stevens, a legend in his own mind

There's Barb H and Brenda H and of course Dr. Dip
Humpwhistle, he's the man, How could I forget

All very different, no two are the same
Like Robyn C. and me, the yin to my yang

This new exciting journey has been a ball
And if I didn't name you, I still love you all

This Fanstory school has been a blessing, a gift
And I'll never forget when I made the DEAN'S list.
MY friend you will be missed.

Author Notes
I sadly learned this morning from Dr. Dip of the passing of Dean Kuch. Dean was one of the first people to review my work and he always had great advice and encouraging words. He was extremely talented and I was greatly humbled that not only did he take the time to help me but also became a fan of mine. To be on the friend list of someone whose work I admired meant a lot to me and I WILL NEVER FORGET IT! Hope you are spinning some creepy tales for the man upstairs. I just ask that you look down on your FanStory family from time to time. THANK YOU DEAN!
