Run, duck, crawl or hide in a mass shooting?
"Run, Duck, Crawl or Hide?" by Liberty Justice

Fight or Flight?
Get out-of-sight.
Watch your back; your
world might be under attack!
If you hear a "rat-a-tat-tat,
you'd better ask,
"What the heck is that?"

Run, Duck, Crawl, or Hide?

Get ready to run, duck, crawl or hide;
because might be some
psycho with an assault gun.
And, if you hear a firecracker sound,
you'd better get down or crawl
on the ground;
Finding your way to the nearest way out,
steadily looking all about.

Run, Duck, Crawl or Hide?

You might be in real danger, if you see
a weird-looking stranger wearing a
long leather coat in the summer time,
Or, military-style gear might evoke trembling
Hiding in the bathroom? Well, I don't know,
if that would be good, unless there's nowhere
else to go; I guess I would.

Run, Duck, Crawl or Hide?

Shopping for grocery or gas at any store,
one might get shot at pushing
a shopping cart.
So, shop at your own risk, but you'd better
watch around and train your ears to
listen for loud, rapid sharp sounds.
So, if you blink, you only have seconds to think,
Better plan your fast safest exit to escape.

Be prepared to RUN, HIDE, CRAWL, OR DUCK DOWN,
if you hear "pow pow" or "rat-a-tat-tat sharp sounds!

Rhyming Poem contest entry

Author Notes
INDEED, we'd better be ready to RUN, HIDE, CRAWL, OR DUCK DOWN.

I wrote this poem, exclusively, by myself in response to the senseless mass shootings in El Paso, TX and Dayton, Ohio, recently, and all the other senseless, horrible shootings at churches, mosques, schools all over the U.S. and other countries.
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
