Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
To the tune of 'Penny Lane' by the Beatles
"Butchy's Store" by Mike Stevens
Should be picture of an 'open' sign:
To the tune of 'Penny Lane' by The Beatles

See Butchy's store; I still see it like it was yesterday,

See him pumping gas for harried customers
On their way to somewhere else in such a rush,
Give a short 'hello'

Across the street is the Metro Bus Stop waiting there
Some hurried riders come in and ask for change
And he grumbles but he'll change a dollar bill
His old fashioned till, yes he will

Butchy's Store still in my mind and still the same
There just down the hill across the way
Remember? Meanwhile back

At Butchy's store see firemen speeding past
On their way to the station up the way
Maybe a fire or a car crash awaits
Can't be late

Butchy's Store still in my mind and still the same
There just down the hill across the way
Remember? Meanwhile back

On the corner of the road that leads to Upperville,
The little children buying candy from the tray
When a nickle lasted forever and a day
Seemed so anyway

At Butchy's Store a neighbor buys some Chicken Noodle Soup
Or maybe shoelaces for his shoes
And then another neighbor rushes in
To buy two%, ignore the dent

Butchy's Store still in my mind and still the same
There just down the hill across the way
Remember? Meanwhile back
Butchy's Store still in my mind and still the same
There just down the hill across the way
Remember? Butchy's Store!
