The hidden tribe.
"The Ippy-Dips" by Raffaelina Lowcock
The Ippy-Dips are in the trees
The object is, they're there to please
They swing so free from limb to limb
And that is why they're oh so trim

They're just as green as green can be
And that means we can never see
Their little forms jump here and there
Nor what their bodies seem to wear

They guard the forests plant by plant
They do not speak or sing, or rant
They're there for a good rhyme and reason
They tend the land to paint each Season

They train their young to carry on
To work each day from dusk 'til dawn
Young Ippy-Dips are taught to know
Just how to make a garden grow

They keep the trees so lush and green
And taller than I've ever seen
To do their work they must stay free
Let's keep this secret 'tween you and me.

Kiddies motivational poem writing prompt entry

Writing Prompt
Write a poem that will appeal to young children. Any topic. Any poetry type.

Author Notes
The story of the Ippy-Dips is something that helped us with our four boys when we were on car trips. The first one to spy an Ippy-Dip got a prize. It kept them very busy.
