As they prepare to cross the mighty seas,
they line up at the quays to stock their boats,
to tease their sails, so they can tack the breeze
and cross the great Atlantic coast to coast.
And as they start their journey, leave the shore,
the land will fade before their very eyes,
explorers on adventures underscore
the need to take this risk may not be wise.
The storms then flood the boat, the sailors hide,
they pray the storm decides to pass on through,
their pride is still intact, the sails are tied,
and soon the sunshine quells the ocean blue.
Ahead they hear a Caribbean band,
then tan themselves for days on golden sand.
