An osprey returning home after a successful expedition.
"A Fish Dinner" by HarryT
In a cloudless sky a lone Osprey
Winging above a clear blue lake
Deliberately circling, seeking a meal
Target sighted, she begins her descent
Wings swept back, head pointed down
Plunges into sun-kissed water, snatching her prey
Talons claw deep into the back of a large mouth bass
She surges up, water streams from powerful wings
Climbing high, she soars to her shoreline habitat
Chicks whistle their hunger with high-pitched chirps
Cycle of life continues near a rocky, lakeshore beach
