A simple search and rescue unveils something sinister.
"Twenty" by Ruth Bradford

"I found another one!" I yelled down the hallway. Soon, the echoes of boots on linoleum sounded down the corridor, until there were three other men in the room with us. They all froze upon entry before slowly lining up against the wall, staring at the image before them.

"My god. . ." begins one of my fellow officers, breaking the silence that was beginning to overtake the room.
"How many does that make?" The lights flickered overhead.

"Twenty. This is Twenty." I drew in my breath, then exhaled slowly. "Call in for another body bag."

They nodded and dispersed, and I was half-alone again.

"I'm sorry this happened to you." The bulb cut out once more. After the third time it completely failed, and I was left in complete darkness. "I'm sorry."
