"One Blue Rose"
by pharp
|
You gave me a blue rose to say goodbye -
Your thorny farewell pierced my soul to cry
To pipe, a tune of hurt, bursting with pain -
Your words were hateful with nothing to gain
The love of my friend - you were pursuing
While the love we shared you were undoing
Your actions were unkind and indiscreet...
My heart ripped apart, with hurt and deceit
I’ll air out the sadness which you have caused
The overwhelming grief has simply paused
Despite all of your lies, I cannot hate -
Broken promises will not seal my fate
No longer a puppet to string along
I stand before you, beautiful and strong
Determined to heal, I'll have peace of mind
Memories of you will be left behind!
