Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
Song about a dogs last days
"I Wish That He Could Stay" by prodigal
I don't want this ride to end
One last drive with my best friend
Going somewhere we don't want to go
We got time so we'll drive slow

There's the park we used play
Throwin' sticks on sunny days
Splashin' water from the lake
Makin' friends along the way
God I wish we could stay
This way

His wagging tail
His loving eyes
My broken hearted last goodbyes
He doesn't know that it's today
God I wish that he could stay
Just one more day

The house is creaking in despair
It seems to know that he's not there
Treasured teeth marks on the trim
I meant to fix but never will
Because they're memories of him

He lived and loved with all he's got
His pain is gone but mine is not
No pitter patter on my floors
No more barking at the door
anymore

His wagging tail
His loving eyes
My broken hearted last goodbyes
He doesn't know that it's today
God I wish that he could stay
Just one more day

His breath is shallow now and slow
It's so hard to watch him go
and in my arms he starts to fade
And as he gently slips away
I know that he is free

His wagging tail
His loving eyes
My broken hearted last goodbyes
He doesn't know that it's today
God I wish that he could stay
Just one more day
