roosters in the backyard fight for fat fluffy hens

scalding summer heat

chasing dinner fast and hard zigzagging around

chicken without head

blood on the sand and dry grass shows who is the boss

girl cries for her pet

in the warm kitchen, a big pot filled to the brim

vapor rises high

Author Notes
A 12/5 poem - a new form created by FanStory's Gypsy Blue Rose. The poem is inspired by Japanese poetry. It's imagistic and intuitive. The first line (12 syllables) write a visual phrase about nature or human nature. In the second line write a juxtaposition pivotal phrase in relation to the first line. You may write one stanza of 12/5 alone or repeat as many times as you like.

Example:

The first line= Magenta dusk in my backyard with Ellie cat (you set up a scene you can visualize)

The second line= Book lies on my lap (a phrase close together to the first line but in juxtaposition, side by side for contrast.)
