I write what I think-feel-believe.
Every essay, poem, and tale tells a story.
message dictates style.
I write about what's happening in the world.
I consider my writing more "expressive" than "artistic."

America and the cultural revolution (383 words)
"Sign of The Times" by Robert Zimmerman

Since all of the local 4th of July fireworks displays were cancelled because of Covid-19, I decided to watch some pyrotechnics on TV.  Naturally, the fascination with protests filled the airways. As I observed some of the 4th of July protests, riots, vandalism, and flag burning; I saw an interesting sign being carried by one of the “protestors.”
It Read:
Cancel July 4th
unlearn our history

They used professionally made, high quality signs. That means there were a bunch of them. They were not made with a crayon and a piece of cardboard pulled from a dumpster.  The protestors who carried them were calling for the complete erasure of American History. They are calling for a cultural revolution. China had one from 1966 to 1976. Tens of millions of Chinese died at the hands of the CCP.
Patrisse Cullors, one of the founders of Black Lives Matters political group, referred to herself and Alicia Garza, a fellow founder, as “trained Marxists.” One of the mission statement objectives of BLM is: “We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement.” They reject the idea of the nuclear family.  That is a Marxist view.
Last week, Ilhan Omar called for the "dismantling" of the US economy and political system. She was born in Somalia and her family was granted asylum in America. She also supports disbanding the Minneapolis police department.
The cancel culture mobs won’t stop at statues and property. When they run out of property to destroy, they will look for more. This weekend, two statues of the Virgin Mary were vandalized and three churches were burned. Marxism promotes a hatred of God and those who follow Him. “In bourgeois society the past dominates the present; in communist society, the present dominates the past.”  [Karl Marx]  These groups want to destroy our history so they can dictate our future.
“At what point then is the approach to danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide.”  [Abraham Lincoln].   His warning is about what we see happening today.
