Remember when we almost made it
Had a shot but we didn't take it
Had a ring on your hand and a plan
But plan slipped away
And all we could say
Was it was
Then I see you again
I'm with her, you're with him
I see the look in your eyes
Neither of us can deny
What it was
Is it enough to say it was
When what it was was all we had
And if we hadn't given up
Then it would have ended bad
And just because we gave it up
Doesn't mean there wasn't love
And I'll remember you because

We were living in the moment
Made mistakes but we didn't own em
We were beautiful a mess I confess
But it all slipped away

The memories we made
