A quandary indeed at least for me
"Match or Matches?" by Suzanna Ray

A Match, or Matches?
The catch is, to find a word that will rhyme.
Should I make the word singular or plural?
The question has put my mind in a twirl!

A Patch or Patches? the kind you put on the knees of your jeans
when you are younger, and on your
shoulder when you are older.

Patches in your life that are tough or
tragic. Patches that hold everything together.

Now, a Scratch, is sort of like a scrape, but not, I get them all the time, scrambling about,
picking blackberries in thorny thickets.

You scratch when you itch, and people who have horses,
Scratch them, when they can't run in races.

Snatches, now these are really fun. There are Snatches of conversations, you can turn into gossip or
scandal, or worry about,                    for the rest of your life or
Snatch your little sister’s favorite
doll,  just to cause some strife.

Now there are Thatches, that are a part of a roof in jungle parts of the world, that Attaches, up there,
some where to keep rain out, but that is, all I know about them.

I can't think of another rhyme so it is time to stop while I’m
Ahead; while I finish off this Batch of chocolate chip cookies.
