: The Pitches by Bill Schott
75 Words Flash Fiction contest entry
Peril Pitch, recent guest of the state of Michigan, stepped onto the bus after crossing the street from the Jackson State Prison.
His wife, Pom Pon Pitch, mother of his twenty-month-old son, Pez, waited patiently at the bus station in downtown Detroit.
Thanks to President Reagan's order to empty the prisons and asylums of all those who could half-ass function in society, he was granted an early release without parole.
Now, to get a gun.
