Bluebell Memories by Dolly'sPoems

The endless days of playful fun,
where bluebell flowers stood,
with sadness I look back and see,
my youth inside this wood.

This sea-squill bell of ancient Greece,
sprang up from tears of grief;
the blue blood of a dying Prince,
this myth brings some relief.

As I remember shedding tears,
the day my Grandad died,
we picked those wild dark bluebell blooms,
for Mother, as a child.

These very English blooms are deep
inside my history;
and when I view their drooping bells,
they bring a memory.
