The Missing Season
Here in the last chapter, you end with the saddest story of your life. The loss of your boy. That could have done you in for many years, but you showed the strength you developed through your growing years to reach beyond and find future happiness and success. Bless you, Bob. my friend. Ralf

Here Comes Santa Claus!
What a disastrous thing to happen. It sounds like you had everything planned perfectly and this final 'Blast' could undo it all. The last lines are precious... LOL

"Maybe they didn't hear us," I said.

"No," she giggled. "The only ones surprised here are you and me."

:)Ralf

You would even say it glows.
I have come to the conclusion that the Santa we are dealing with here is a perfectionist. I love the pre-visit preparation. Getting a list of the children and so on. You really threw your whole heart into every appearance, to make sure you came through as the real Santa. The various requests from the hosts were always adhered to, even though they were risky at times. And the sound of your outfit and its cost truly amazing. I wish you were around our neck of the woods when my children were young.
Seeing Lee Iacocca was a stunning surprise. You did a wonderful job. Bless you, always. Ralf

Your portfolio is a cache of treasures. You could put it all in a book, a mixed bag that I love to read. XRal

The Surprise
Your experiences as Santa have embraced so many different scenarios. This one must have been unique. Playing a part in someone's proposal of marriage would be very special. So many surprise happenings were a part of those times.

I'm just curious so please don't mind my asking if your little blond granddaughter resembles you or your wife? She is a cutie. So is the other one, but I'm looking at your little one's eyes. :)Ralf

Angels I Have Seen Up High
What a disappointment. Did the children see there father videotaping? Did they hear his requests? It seems like such a betrayal. But you know even if they saw him it doesn't mean they didn't think you were really Santa Claus. But in your heart, it must have bothered you. He doesn't sound like a solid character especially when he didn't keep his word about the money. I'd wager that this is not one of your favourite memories as Santa. :)Ralf

Surprise For Santa
Well, well. The Santa that never disappoints. You must have some persuasive powers to get that overnight treatment. Aside from the cost of your outfit, it certainly sounds special. That would be the worst scenario that you could ever encounter and yet you came through with just a "whiff" of what could have been. :)Ralf Ho! Ho! Ho!

Checkin' It Twice
Aaaah a wonderful guy that Santa. Bless you, for your wisdom. Children do not flourish when criticized and furthermore should never be criticized by the benevolent Santa. What were they thinking?
This little aside made me laugh..."

"The names have to be in large print, preferably black magic marker, because Santa doesn't wear his glasses and cannot see too well without them." yet you were so young!

I love reading these pages from your Diary. Your descriptions make me feel like I'm sitting in that room with the children, watching your every action. :)Ralf

The Gift Santa Couldn't Bring
How do you erase these heartbreaking requests from your mind and your heart? I am sure you visualized Kirsten's face for weeks after that encounter. It would pop up into your mind with the request and tear at your heart out of nowhere, I'm sure. You exposed yourself to confront such sadness while you had your own past sadness. Maybe you shouldn't read through the diary which will stir your empathy. X Ralf

The story was, of course, a well written and oh so interesting part of your fabulous Santa experience.

A Gift For Santa
How wonderful! You must have been so pleased with such a response, and too, you must have felt blessed. Generosity pops up when you least expect it, and in such surprising ways. But, as George said, you deserved it.

Daddy . . .is that You?
You did a fine job keeping it from them for so long. Where did you hide all your paraphernalia? In this case, the truth doesn't set you free it upsets you. When I found out I was let down softly by a nun who told me that St. Nicholas was so famous for his generosity that he was being honoured by the constant emulation year after year. Believing in Santa was great while it lasted. It was magical! Yours was a great service, Bob.
