'Shrouded Mysteries' is an exceptionally well-written and thought-provoking piece. Not for a moment would I attempt to answer this talented poet's rhetorical questions. It was a pleasure to both read and review a work of this standard.

I hear what you say. But I often wonder if sometimes we start to judge circumstance and predicaments which we usually have little control. It may just be negativity or is it a profound poem? Your poem did not answer any questions that you posed. Profound or pointless? Someone needs to answer these questions.

and question encourages the reader
to to question himself. if all
failure were to succeed what would
be the point of success? And I must
admit to never seeing a square hole.

Great poem carved with some unanswered questions, it flows well with an aggressive tone to make an impact in reader's mind. Title shrouded mysteries is appealing too.

This is really excellent. The rhythm has a stately quality, and boy are those things that we wonder about. Great one about how the disguised traitor being made the sentinel of the palace. Sometimes the brightest students, the bravest soldiers, never receive the credit they deserve. It's so true that words of wisdom are being ignored while buffoons rule. I do wonder why we overlook brave, courageous, experienced leaders in favor of the ones who are the "hippest." Very well stated. judi

I still wonder
when will the wondering of my thoughts relent
as the words of sages are being ignored
by the ruling buffoons,
rocking and drowning the smooth sailing ship
of great nations?
That stanza is a masterpiece by its self. Well said! Nancy

There are some very profound thoughts in this piece. Life is certainly not fair. "why the bravest soldiers
get killed in war fronts
while the timid return with heroic tales?" I love the lilt and flow of this poem.

Not sure why this didn't get a great review the first time. This is well written, poignant, interesting and very thought provoking. I once told my daughter that the only fair in life is where you buy a corn dog. Your flow was my favorite part. Just moved along with a wonderful cadence. Great piece.
