I believed this was a true story and I hope the phone turns up soon. (Maybe it slipped down into a piece of upholstered furniture.) I enjoyed your rhymed couplets and the parallel picture. Good luck- Joan

Hi Joan. Yep! It's true. I think I threw the phone out with some other stuff in my hands. Anyway, it's definitely not here. I tried ringing it up and nothing for that phone base. The only other possibility is that the phone is hiding somewhere with a dead battery but I think I would have noticed the empty base long before the battery died. Oh well. I do have 3 more satellites. Thank you for your review. It helps to write about these everyday events to clear them off our plate. Marilyn

I am glad you have backups and writing about such mishaps clears the mind. Smiles- Joan

Bald and Bushy
I searched your attic and found this story poem I had missed. I enjoyed your selection of the "beardgod" and colored text plus sense of humor. Here's to Mars shaving--however, I must add I married my husband with a beard, and although it has whitened, his topcoat is still thick! Smiles- Joan

Hi Joan. Thank you for digging up this old one. My son is bald and has a big bushy beard. Not my cup of tea, but that's what makes the world go around. My preference is clean shaven men. I'm sure your hubby is a gem. Bushy eyebrows, though, I really don't like. Marilyn

Fortunately, he does not have bushy eyebrows or ear and nose hair! Have a serene Sunday- Joan

There is a guy in tai chi class who could have used a good trim with pruning shears.

Haha ... love it! I only just saw this poem now when I went into the voting booth (I've got to look in here more often!). Congrats on your second place win with this fun, creative write, Marilyn. I liked your entry the best! I thought it was the most creative entry. "My larceny's the product of persistence" ... lol. Hey, you're giving me ideas on how to end my "humdrum extistence".

Hi Connie. Thank you for your fun review, comments and terrific rating. I appreciate all very much. I DID have fun with this. That's what's nice about writing, we can do whatever we want and not go to jail for it. LOL! I'll bet there are many like me who do have "what if" fantasies. Marilyn

Fifty years is quite an entertainment accomplishment. I like the original Star Trek. This is a great poem to commemorate a great show. Well thought out and nicely written. Inventive with narrative and dialogue/quotes. Good luck in the contest.

Hi Alicia. Thank you for reading this one which is a bit older. I like to write oddball stuff and this is one of those. I appreciate you going back and reviewing it. Marilyn
