A Doggie Dental
I'm sure if Emma could talk this is just what she would say. A really cute read Marilyn from Emma's POV, and many children that wish the dentist couldn't see them too I suspect.

Welcome, Big Red!
Nice composition and mix of colors with the dogs on the staircase in that photograph with background and font presentation. Enjoyable poem to read. Good storytelling. Sorry to hear about your doggy loss. And you still have Jewel the cat?

Hi Alicia. Thank you for reading this one. Yes, I still have my baby--my Jewel. I also have Emma (Big Dog). At one point I had 7 rescued animals and over the years they died of longevity. Marilyn

My Prayer for the Animals
This is so very precious what you have penned for Emma. It makes me think of our cats as I say a prayer for them each night too, the ones inside and outside. I love this picture of Emma. She is beautiful and I am so glad you have her. A wonderful prayer for the other little animals! Give Emma a pet for me! love and blessings, Teri

Hi Teri. Thank you for your nice review and love and blessings for Emma. She's a honey--as I know your kitties and Greyson's dog and pets are, too. Animals are such a joy. We have a lot of animal lovers on our site which warms my heart. Hugs, Marilyn

I enjoy reading about Emma's antics and missed this poem in the past. (I live in a condo up thirty-two steps and cannot have a dog--and it wouldn't be fair to the creature.) Your Bookend Monorhyme is the perfect vehicle to describe her activities. I liked your rhymes and use of alliteration, plus the energetic photograph. Cheers- Joan

Hi Joan. Thank you for reading this one on my Emma. She is a honey. Are you home or still traveling? Marilyn

reply by Joan E. on 22-Mar-2019
We are back home, recovering from jet lag and the rough seas. It has stopped raining here, which is good news since we are well over our yearly average and the slopes are so saturated. You've probably seen pictures of the resultant poppy blooms around Lake Elsinore--amazing. Have a serene weekend- Joan

reply by the author on 23-Mar-2019
Hi Joan. Most definitely. As you know I lived in that neck of the woods and am familiar with the Temecula/Lake Elsinore/Idyllwild/Palm Springs areas. I have friends there and know they've had tons of rain and problems with road cave-ins and flooding. I remember the rock slides in the mountains. I'm glad you're home safely. :) Marilyn

reply by Joan E. on 23-Mar-2019
Because the bloom is so spectacular, Lake Elsinore is trying to create a Poppy Plan to deal with the invasion of tourists, and is currently offering a $10 shuttle to view the poppies, rather than have folks stop their cars on the freeway! Smiles- Joan

reply by the author on 23-Mar-2019
Yikes! They actually STOP on the freeway? Crazy stuff. The shuttle is a good idea for safety. The Ortega Highway is a nightmare so hopefully people avoid that. Marilyn

reply by Joan E. on 23-Mar-2019
Yes--folks can be pretty dimwitted! They hope their plan can be uses in the future and by other cities. We saw poppies along the 210 Freeway in Pasadena yesterday--the bloom makes all the rain almost worth the it! More smiles- Joan

How cool (or rather warm) is this? And doesn't Emma look happy? Pets bring such a lot of pleasure to their owners. I don't have any suggestions but did enjoy reading it.

Awe, look at Emma. She looks like she might even like it. What kind of dog is she? Is she some kind of mixed breed? I know a few breeds who like getting in the water. I like the accompanying artwork. Thanks for sharing the adventures of Emma Marilyn. Well done!

Hi Jeffrey. Thank you for reviewing this poem about my Emma. I hate to have had you review this one as I didn't promote it. I'd already posted the poem in another FanStory book. Since we can only put a poem into one book and I wanted to include this in #2, I changed the name of the poem slightly and put it in there. I didn't want readers to review it for no points, so I left an author's note to address that point. In any case I appreciate you reviewing it.

Emma is a rescue. All my animals are. So many need forever homes. She's some sort of mixed breed and, yes, she likes the water. I found this out when I walked her around a little nearby lake. LOL! She drags me down to the waterfront and wades/then rolls around in the water. Too cold for her to go into the pond now. The doggy gym was a good alternate.Thank you for your nice review. Marilyn

"My Mom found a place where wind never blows" ... what a good Mamma you are to your Emma. :)) Not all dogs like to swim, but your Emma looks like she's having a good time. She almost looks like she has a smile on her face.

This is a cute poem, Marilyn. Luv the picture! Thanks for sharing.

Hugs,
Connie

Hi Connie. Thank you so much for reviewing this one even though I didn't promote it. I wanted to include it in a second book here on FanStory. To do that, the piece has to be re-titled. For that reason, I didn't promote the poem. Marilyn

How cuuute! She looks like she's having so much fun doing the doggy paddle. What a great idea for dogs. I can't imagine mine liking the water, but they're all different, just as people are. :)

Hi Phyllis. This is a repost of my other same poem as this. Did you read my author's note saying not to review it again? Anyway, I put this poem into two FS books, so I didn't want people to review it for no points. I do thank you though for reading it and reviewing it. Emma does like the water and enjoys swimming. In January, I took her to the "doggy gym" to swim in their canine pool. Marilyn

That's a neat form you have created! It certainly flows well and I like the structured rhyming. Perhaps you should create a contest for this type form. As for the piece itself I think it a wonderful lighthearted poem. I certainly found nothing wrong with it. Also, I like the picture of Emma.

Hi FM. Thank you for your very nice review and comments. Emma does like the water and the canine pool in January is better than trying to swim in a frozen pond. Marilyn

reply by fm wright on 17-Mar-2019
You're welcome and I can see where the canine pool would be much better than a frozen pond, any day!
