Many accolations for Eric to overcome not only his internal affliction but the obstacles that he overcame in the outer world, facing peers that can be harsh at times.
.
Congratulations and much success on your publication.

Sandra,

There are so many awesome things to celebrate in this post! *smile* I am happy about your new publishing achievement, but if you'll permit me to say so, I'm even more excited about the personal achievements of your grandson. That is amazing! It's so wonderful when our kids find just the right place for themselves. Where they fit right in and feel at home. That is AWESOME! And, to think - he has another book waiting for him!

What a great grandmother!! Thanks and congrats!!

It was such a relief to see how happy he is now at his new school. He's a different lad, I can only see good things happening in his life now that he's with children who struggle with Dyslexia the way he does. Thank you so much for your really lovely words, my friend. :) Sandra xxx

While having my son tutored for dyslexia, the reading specialist discovered that he inherited it from me! No wonder I could never set the table. I stopped playing tennis because when calling line shots, I could never tell which side of the line the ball was on. On the other hand, When I taught kindergarten, I never had to deal with the kids stretching their necks and crying, "I can't see" because I could read upside down. Oh, and my dyslexic son went on to get a degree in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech. I see Eric having lots of real epic adventures ion the future!

Oh my goodness! Didn't you know? Eric's mum is dyslexic, too, but my granddaughter isn't, so she must take after my son. There are loads of young children suffering from this, and some never get noticed. Such a shame. It was because Sue is dyslexic that she guessed what Eric's problem was and had him tested. I have no doubt he will do well in his life, I've had many Fanstorians tell me of their successes, like you, as well. I didn't realise there were so many types of dyslexia, yours is yet another one! I bet that came in handy at times, being able to read upside down! LOL. Yes, I'll be writing more stories for my grandson. Thanks, Susan. xxxx

The story about Eric is heart touching. I live in Asian country where children have same problem as Eric but there is no proper teaching for them in any school. Eric is lucky having friend which always think about him. I wish him to gain all happiness in his life.

That is so sad, Nuzhatshireen, all children should have a good education, but I know it's not so in many countries. It's lovely to see you writing, and in English, too! I studied Spanish and can speak quite a bit of the language, but I can't write properly in Spanish. So, well done to you! Thank you so much for this lovely review, my friend. Big hugs. :)) Sandra xxx

wow, Sandra, that is marvelous! You are really something - the perfect grandmother - just what he needs. I bet he's excited. What a happy chapter in his life! I know your family is proud of you, and especially Eric, who can read a book about himself, written by his grandmother! I bet nobody else at his school can say that.
Bless you!

You know, the Percy Jackson books specialize in dyslexia. The idea is that they're demigods so their brains are hardwired for ancient greek. I know it's made a lot of kids feel like they're special instead of odd. You might give him one to read. They're great books!

I'll have a look for that book on Amazon. He can't read properly yet, but what he can pick out is such an achievement we're all so proud of him. Those spiteful children who told him he was dumb couldn't have been brought up right. Thanks for those really kind words, Melonie, I really appreciated them. :)) Sandra xx

Bravo, Sandra. You must be so proud of Eric (and yourself for writing these wonderful books dedicated to him) I can imagine the change in him now he's had it confirmed that he's not stupid (40 seconds to complete a Rubic cube - he must be a genius!)
As always, I stand in awe of your talent - well done!

Bless you, Alexis. Thank you so much for the lovely six stars, and very flattering review!! I'll have to video him doing his rubik cube and show you. He really can do it. I tried coming on to Skype today, but it wouldn't let me. I'll see what it's like tomorrow. Biggest hugs, my lovely friend. xxxx :) xxxxx

What a wonderful grandmom you are - this is excellent and I'm so glad things have turned round for Eric. That's outstanding. And why not? Schools should be available for a child who has these difficulties. We have one grandboy who still does not read. he's almost blind in one eye, but I think he might be part dyslesic also. He's grown now, but will never be a reader I fear. Still , he's a hard worker and doing ok. Great kid.

Hi Gail. I've had so many people on here tell me about their dyslexic children/grandchildren, who have done exceptionally well in their grown-up lives. Eric is only 11 years old, but I know he will succeed, whether he does or doesn't master this. Just like your grandson has, it's heart-warming to read stories like yours.

Thank you so much for reading this, and more, thank you for sharing your encouraging story. One thing I did find out, I have a children's book published and it's all in rhyme. A friend of a friend gave it to his daughter who is dyslexic and has trouble reading. She has a son who is always asking her to read stories to him. When she opened my book up, she found she could actually read it because it was in rhyme. Her brain somehow picked up on the next rhymed word. I don't know how it works, but I'm going to write this book in rhyme now and see how Eric gets on with that.

Thank you again, my friend. I appreciate what you've told me. :)) Sandra xxx
