Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
Dramatic, descriptive Awdl Sonnet about the Holocaust storm that spread it's evil. Great closing couplet - humanity ...vile insanity..I think that still happens today unfortunately we don't all learn from the past. Great presentation.
cheers,
valda

A very well-written heartfelt Awdl Sonnet about the human nature that can be cruel especially against each other when hate reign and control their minds of they become monsters.

Excellent sonnet, Dolly. I have heard people say time and again, it could never happen again, to which I tell them they have no imagination. It can happen again.

Excellent rhyme and rhythm and the Awdl Sonnet is the perfect form to deliver the message.

Always a pleasure to read your work. :)

Hello Dolly.

Your poem about the Holocaust is recognizable by your graphic detail. It was time that no one wanted to believe. It seems to me we could see the same thing recur with some of the present attitudes.

Your Awdl sonnet is well written and clearly expressed.

Wish I had a six for this, Dolly. The Holocaust was a malevolent happening and you have expressed the feelings of it very well in your heartfelt sonnet. xo

I think in abomination's terms this would have to rank as by far the worst of humanity being cruel to the extreme, although this has been happening to Jews and Christians for 2000 years and even longer for Jews. Beautifully written Dolly, well done, blessings Roy

Great use of your awdl sonnet form to so poetically describe the horrific storm of the holocaust. And there were similar events around the world. One should recognize and take note when a leader sows hate against any group of people!

Dolly,

Throughout all recorded time, man has inflicted pain on other men. It has never made much sense to me.

My son and I were just talking about this. You have to assume that the Germans (and specifically Adolf Hitler) were trying to rid themselves of the Jewish people because a.) they were so successful and resourceful at earning money and opening shops, etc., and b.) the Bible clearly says that Jewish people would be tormented down through the ages for their part in killing Jesus.

So, it strikes me as a strange concept that Adolph was a CHRISTIAN and wanting to punish the Jews for what they did to Jesus. That just doesn't wash, somehow. I can certainly believe the first part - eliminating the folks who were becoming successful and rich. IDK.

It's all a horror story. Thanks!

Thank you for you review Robyn, there is envy of the Jewish people because they stick together and help each other both in business and socially, but being in their club means you also have to be honest and care for others too. Adolf Hitler was a little man with ideas above his station. He didn?t really amount for much in his life, he failed at almost everything he did before he became the leader of the Nazi party and even gained power by default, he was not elected. He was a failure trying to be a big man. He could have done great things, but he chose to use his hatred and persecute others. He foolishly thought that the British people, for whom he had a lot of admiration, would be on his side! Oh dear what a very foolish man indeed, the rest is history as they say. Love Dolly x

Thoughtful words to remind the reader of the atrocity but also how the world turned a blind eye.

Great work with the details of this piece Dolly. I was impressed with how you were able to write about the trains, ghetto's and other bits of information about the holocaust and use them to show how horrible this mass extermination really was. Well done.
