"While others may accept an end
to life or to existence,
We'll make this trek forevermore ...
You see rain is quite persistent!"

Six quatrains, all well written, fallen from the abysmal depth of the thunder, travelling through miles of natural rhymes, sibillating flows of the wind and euphoric screams until they land and give new earthly life. Gorgeous! I wish I could become an eternal drop like yours, too one day!

Thank you so very much, Tony!! And please excuse the EXTREME TARDINESS of this reply -- taking care of all of my father's affairs and making sure my mother was all set to move forward really over-whelmed whatever spare time used to exist (lol!!). Hope all's well over there with you, sir, and I'm looking forward to writing and reading again! Take good care and many bright wishes for the Christmas Season!! ;) Yvette

I hope you succeeded in resolving your parents' problems and greet your Mamma for me. I remember all what you told me at the beginning of our sincere cultural friendship. Happy Christmas and take care of yourself!Tony

This strikes me as a 'read aloud' poem to truly appreciate the value in the write. Nice ABCB construct and flow and strong resolution in the final line.

Very creative and clever portrayal of the life of a raindrop. We never stop to think of the creation and journey of such a small entity that can accumulate in numbers to be part of a turbulent hurricane! And where would life be without a single drop of this precious water - unending drought. Thanks for an enjoyable and enlightening read.

This poem, Life is a Raindrop, sends the reader through the downpour as the personified droplets lead the journey from the dense clouds to the earth below.

Loved your creativity with this dramatic tale of the cyclical life of a raindrop! I always think of the A. A. Milne poem where two raindrops race down the window. Yours is more scientific as well as poetic. Hope you do well in the contest!

This is my favorite poem in this contest. I love the feel and the smell of the rain, but never considered that it is many drops gathered together. What a wild ride. Best of luck in the contest.

This was interesting as you gave the rain drops a personality here, and we watch them falling from their perspective. We see them zeroing in on our rooftops, on our lawns, pelting the pavement and gathering into the puddles. It certainly is relevant to me after that deluge down here the last two days. But that's North Carolina; two months of hardly any rain, and then two months of rain in two days. estory

This fits the contest well and is an imaginative view of rain from the raindrops point of view. Other than the thunder and lightning, it seems like the rain feels similar to someone skydiving.
Good luck with the prompt
Keep writing and stay healthy.

I attempted to write a poem on five raindrops sometime ago as a metaphoric journey of five friends who started out as young folk studying in Europe in the 1960s from many countries, America, South Africa, Switzerland, Ireland and Australia, we met as 10 people on a Mediterranean cruise after fifty years, I wasn't one of them, but a spouse. All were eminent professors, a premier politician from SA, a physicist and two linguists, and globe trotting musician, and me. A wonderful peaceful Time, just lovely companionship. I will finish my quest. Yes, my granddaughter wrote a kid's post here entitled "Drippy Drop" about the travels of a raindrop, at eight years old, she's a talent. So well done, sorry, this is beautifully written, sorry for the ramble. Blessings Roy

Excellent job, Author. Your choice of words are exceptional. I liked this stanza in particular:

"Destiny's arms are open wide
as down, down, down we fall:
Rapturous flight, alone at last!
Cool whistling winds enthrall..."

Wow! Good writing. Bob
